Good news – we’ve hopefully managed to secure a final chance to grab a Clapton CFC home or away shirt before the season starts. Pre-order online by August 25th and manufacturers Rage Sports should be able to tack yours on to the current batch they’re producing for the 200 or so of us who have […]
Clapton CFC are to play newly-promoted Hutton FC at home in the first round of the BBC Essex Premier Cup. Hutton, based in Brentwood, will play in the Essex Olympian Premier Division, one step above CCFC, this season after finishing runners-up last season. Last season in the Essex Premier Cup, Hutton reached the fourth round, […]
Epping Town are on a mission to go back to the glory days of the Seventies and Eighties. In the early 1980s they disappeared due to financial problems, despite the team reaching the Isthmian League, basking in their best ever FA Cup and FA Vase runs and playing the likes of West Ham and Spurs […]
Clapton notched up a second win in 7 days on Saturday, with an impressive victory over MCFL Div 1 counterparts, NW London, at the vast New River Stadium. Our second visit to North London in a week saw Geoff Ocran’s team put in arguably their most complete performance of pre-season to date against well drilled […]
After the glamour games and the free hits, the serious preparation for the league season begins. A shot at silverware against Step 3 Enfield Town at their lovely stadium; a trip to the seaside to open Step 6 Holland FC‘s impressive new £550,000 facility; and a visit to the immaculate second stadium on the Olympic Park […]
Clapton CFC defied the five-division gap to push Enfield Town hard but ultimately lost out in the Brian Lomax Supporters Direct Cup with late goals in both halves. The Tons were missing player-manager Geoff Ocran – out with a minor knee injury – as they had their first shot at silverware in only their fourth […]
This Tuesday, Clapton CFC’s pre-season schedule moves up a gear with the chance of lifting some silverware against Enfield Town. The venue is the beautiful, Grade II-listed Queen Elizabeth II Stadium, which is holding its second cup final of the summer, having already hosted the ConIFA World Cup for non-FIFA affiliated regions. Enfield Town and […]
Eliot Crosbie smashed home Clapton CFC’s first ever goal to put the Tons on their way to a hugely impressive victory in the East London sunshine. After games at much higher opposition Holland FC and West Essex, player-manager Geoff Ocran had earmarked this as the first chance to properly gauge how his newly-formed team would […]
After a gruelling first test by the seaside in week one, Clapton dusted themselves off, stepping up against even tougher opposition last Sunday against West Essex. In terms of league standing, the ESL side represent our most difficult game of pre-season, sitting three divisions above us in the non-league pyramid. While the 3-0 result wasn’t […]
Clapton CFC are a fan-owned, fan-operated football club, and that comes with some pretty decent perks. Clapton CFC fans will never be treated like customers. We’ll never be blindsided by the decisions of a malevolent owner. And we don’t have to pull on a replica shirt that costs £80 but the workers who made it […]
Clapton CFC succumbed to a 3-0 defeat against West Essex on a drizzly afternoon at the London Marathon Community Track, but there were plenty of positives for player-manager Geoff Ocran to take into next Saturday’s game against Sporting Hackney. A much-improved CCFC showed cohesion and looked dangerous on the counter attack against their ESL opponents. […]
Occasionally in football, a draw can feel like a win, a win can feel like a defeat and there’s even a case to put a positive spin on the odd defeat. Rarely, though, can you come away from a 5 – 0 loss with any sense of accomplishment. Saturday’s trip to the Essex coast provided […]

A joyous day by the seaside saw Holland FC open their new £550,000 ground with a bumper crowd and a thumping win – while Clapton CFC’s new-look side took plenty of positives on their very first outing. The historic match was delayed by 30 minutes due to traffic congestion heading towards the coast. In the […]
On Saturday July 21, at 3pm, the Clapton CFC journey begins with an away game at Step 6 side Holland FC. And it’s a double slice of history as it’s the curtain-raiser for our hosts at their brand spanking new £550,000 Eastcliff ground. We have booked a coach to sunny Holland-on-Sea on a strictly first-come-first-served […]
A trip to the seaside, our very first chance of a trophy, the grand opening of a spanking new stadium, a game on the Olympic park and the five-times FA Cup winners coming to town – Clapton CFC’s first summer of friendlies have a bit of everything with opposition ranging from Step 3 to Step […]
Clapton CFC manager Geoff Ocran ran the rule over 16 trialists this week as the season’s preparations got underway. Geoff took the session at our training base at Wadham Lodge featuring established non-league players, particularly from Step 5 level, plus promising new talent. Geoff said afterwards: “Training was positive. I was able to get an 8 v […]
