Clapton CFC end of season awards – all the winners for 2024/25

It was another season to remember for this little fan-owned football club of ours.

On the pitch:

  • The Women’s First Team won the Supporters Direct Shield and reached the final of the L&SERWFL Trophy
  • The Men’s First Team won the SCEFL Division One Trophy
  • The Reserves won the GLWFL Division Two North title and promotion in their first season

  • Record home attendance for a Men’s First Team game – 1432 against Forest Hill Park
  • Record home league attendance of 478 for the Women’s First Team – beaten only by friendlies and FA Cup
  • Biggest number of CCFC fans at a game not at Old Spotted Dog, Wadham Lodge Stadium and the Stray Dog at the Men’s First Team cup final at Barking – 768 advance tickets sold

And some off the field achievements:

  • The Walter Tull Way is complete with new fencing and paving
  • The new toilet block is (almost) complete
  • The Newham International Brigades memorial has been installed, with Billy Bragg performing at the unveiling
  • We have 646 pre-orders for the trans solidarity goalkeeper shirt with proceeds going to the Trans Legal Clinic
  • Our T-shirt collaboration with Hackney Bumps raised £3000 for Gaza Sunbirds and we raised a record Newham Christmas Toy Appeal total of £1178.62
  • We collected hundreds of items for Magpie Project, boots for New Horizon Youth Centre and coats for Wrap Up London
  • We hosted our first official worker’s May Day event, an anti-racism tournament and Pitch Invaders tournament

At the club’s end of season awards on June 1 at the Old Spotted Dog Ground clubhouse we handed out awards and medal to 47 different players.

Three players were also presented with framed shirts for being our first to play 150 competitive games.
