Football returns to the Old Spotted Dog Ground with in-house exhibition match

Football has returned to the Old Spotted Dog Ground!

A full house of 300 members, guests, volunteers and neighbours cheered on two mixed teams of men’s and women’s players for an in-house exhibition game on Tuesday night.

The first goal in front of a crowd at the Old Spotted Dog Ground in many years was scored by Jerry Jairette, which was perfect given he has been playing on this pitch for 15 years.

The first goal by a CCFC women’s team player at the Old Spotted Dog Ground was scored by Teju Callisto. A superb poacher’s goal from our development team’s hotshot striker.

Men’s development team assistant manager Tom Marsland scored twice, while there were goals for James Briggs, Stefan Kilron, James Pavely and Harriet Plows.

The final score was 5-3 to the CCFC Away XI, but the big result was another four-figure sum towards the Changing Rooms appeal, which still has some way to go to hit the £25k target.

A big thank you to all of the volunteers at the game and to all those who have worked on the Old Spotted Dog Ground over the last few years.

  1. I came over from West London to see the game on Tuesday night and loved the whole experience of being at the Old Spotted Dog. I will be back next season to see more football here.
