Clapton CFC cricket team season begins this week

The CCFC cricket team begin their third season on Friday (April 22) in the Victoria Park Cricket League with a game against Regents Cricket Club, starting at 5:45pm.

The team was formed in 2020 after a vote at that year’s member’s meeting. After a year competing in the Last Man Stands league in Newham, we now compete in the Victoria Park Cricket League.

While already having an established squad list, the team is mixed gender and open to anybody regardless of ability.

So if you’re a member and are returning to the game, or are interested in trying it for the first time, then you are very welcome, please get in touch with one the club’s social media accounts.

Nets and practice sessions happen sporadically, usually on Hackney Marshes.

All games take place in Victoria Park, are 16 overs-a-side, with 8 players on each team, and each game lasts around 2 hours.

You can check out the league’s website here: https://www.vpccl.com/ and follow @VPCCL on Instagram.
