Clapton CFC vs Hampton & Richmond Borough preview: A venue change and a hunt for 3 points

The last time the teams met, 44 Clapton supporters travelled all the way to Feltham, and with a five piece percussion set had both home supporters – and players – dancing throughout the game.

The Tons started stronger and took the lead with a header from Plows, but then lost concentration and allowed Hampton & Richmond Borough to get back into the game with two goals scored on either side of the half-time mark.

A brilliant shot right into the top right corner from master technician Zhane Amoaten saved the draw and saw herself rightfully picked as star player of the game.

Highs and lows

Since that cold, warm, dry and rainy game in early November, the Beavers have played 8 games.

They lost to Brentford, Walton Casuals, Comets, Crystal Palace, and away to Dulwich Hamlet.

They have also produced big wins against Regents Park Rangers, Islington Borough, and a 3-1 win at home against Dulwich.

Hampton & Richmond Borough sit in 5th place in the league, having played 16 games so far, more than any other team in the league.

They have won 5 games, drawn 2 and lost 9. A home game against Luton Town and this away fixture against the Tons is all that remains for the Beavers this season.

After that, they will have to sit back and wait for the rest of the league to catch up.
