The last time the teams met, 44 Clapton supporters travelled all the way to Feltham, and with a five piece percussion set had both home supporters – and players – dancing throughout the game.
The Tons started stronger and took the lead with a header from Plows, but then lost concentration and allowed Hampton & Richmond Borough to get back into the game with two goals scored on either side of the half-time mark.
A brilliant shot right into the top right corner from master technician Zhane Amoaten saved the draw and saw herself rightfully picked as star player of the game.
Highs and lows
Since that cold, warm, dry and rainy game in early November, the Beavers have played 8 games.
Hampton & Richmond Borough sit in 5th place in the league, having played 16 games so far, more than any other team in the league.
They have won 5 games, drawn 2 and lost 9. A home game against Luton Town and this away fixture against the Tons is all that remains for the Beavers this season.
After that, they will have to sit back and wait for the rest of the league to catch up.
Clapton CFC vs Hampton & Richmond FC is at 2pm on Sunday, February 23rd at Chobham Academy Football Pitch, London E20 1BD
Admission as always is free, but we welcome donations, with a suggested £3 for waged adults.
There will be no food or drink for sale, so please bring your own refreshments, but otherwise it’ll be just like any other matchday.
We have a range of merch on sale at all home games, including new scarves and tracksuit tops, and home and away shirts.
Our full-colour matchday programme will be on sale for £2. There’s a different cover artist each time.
Magpie Project collection
At each home game we collect food and toiletries for our charity partner, the Magpie Project. They support mums and young children who live in temporary and emergency accommodation in East London.
If you have any of these to spare, please bring them to our collection point at the entrance:
