Hackney Council are hosting a charity event this Sunday 22 August, raising funds for St Joseph’s Hospice and Hackney Empire. The activities will take place at East Marshes, pitch E2.
The day starts at 1.15pm with fun and games for friends and family. There will be penalty shoot outs, free kicks and cross bar challenges.
At 2pm, Hackney WFC will face off against Clapton CFC. The two sides last met a year ago, in a game ending in a 1-1 draw. Emily Link served up a 35 yard wonder-strike, only for Hackney WFC to get their own back with an outrageous volley hit from outside the box.
Hackney WFC play in the league above the Tons, finishing top last season. As such, this pre-season clash will be a great challenge for CCFC in preparation of the upcoming competitive matches.
