Farewell message from goalkeeping coach Tolga Ulasan

It’s a sad moment for Clapton CFC as goalkeeping coach Tolga Ulasan leaves us for personal reasons.

Tolga joined in January 2019 and helped the men’s team in the promotion push which saw the Tons lift the league and cup trophies within months.

Since we added a women’s team, he worked with both our men’s and women’s team goalkeepers with special combined sessions for his ‘GK union’.

However, he has recently moved out of London and is finding it hard to make it to training and to games.

Many may remember his one and only competitive appearance for the club – a 4-1 win away at Hereford Palace.

In fact he pulled on the gloves the next day as well in our home international friendly with UC Sant Miguel.

In a parting message, Tolga said:

I have had to make a really tough decision regards my future at Clapton Community Football Club.

I will be leaving the management and coaching for personal reasons. Mostly because it’s so hard for me to get there any more and various other reasons that mean I can’t physically get there.

It’s been a great 2 years with you all. I know I bang on about the GK Union all the time but it’s really been about the CCFC Union and this includes all the managers coaches and players… Certainly not forgetting committees and members and fans.

Thank you all for putting up with me and for helping me with stuff I needed or the management needed as well as the players. One of the best run clubs I have ever been part of and you lot are the brains behind it.

Thank you all again I will continue to be a member and a fan and will expect there will be some great results on and off the pitch.

The OSD is gonna be a huge success with you all. Would love an invite to the first game at the OSD so keep me a ticket please haha.

Anyways all thank you so much again. Much Love

YOUUUU TOOOOOOONS

Everyone at the club thanks him for his sterling work and looks forward to seeing him back on the terraces soon.
