RIP Sahar Khodayari – football for all!

Clapton CFC held a minute’s silence for Sahar Khodayari at both the men’s and women’s games this weekend. Thank you to both opponents, Eastfield and Regents Park Rangers, and the officials, for taking part.

Sahar took her own life by setting herself on fire outside a court in Tehran after being told she faced six months in prison. She had been arrested for the ‘crime’ of trying to enter the stadium to watch her football team Esteghlal play.

The Iran stadium ban must end immediately. Football for all! Sign and share the #nobanforwomen petition.
