Match preview // Bromley vs Clapton CFC Women’s First Team // 22.02.26

Bromley vs Clapton CFC kicks off at 1pm on Sunday, February 22 2026 at Hayes Lane, Bromley, BR2 9EF

After another free weekend last week, Clapton CFC Women’s First Team get back to action with a visit to promotion chasing Bromley. CCFC’s form since the turn of the year has been patchy, with a fine win against Ashford United followed by defeats to Camden Town and Actonians Res. Hopefully the strong second half performance in that last game will carry on into this.

This game is on one of the side pitches at Bromley FC’s Hayes Lane ground, not the stadium where we’ve usually played. As it’s 3G it’s looking almost certain to be on whatever the weather.

About the opposition

Since merging with the men’s club in 2012/3, Bromley have progressed rapidly, winning a shed-load of trophies along the way. For the last two seasons they’ve finished second in the table – close but not quite enough for promotion – and are currently in second once again, trying to chase down leaders Hammersmith.

Previous meetings

We’ve lost 4 of 5 games against Bromley, with the game at the Old Spotted Dog Ground earlier in the season finishing 3-1 to the visitors, despite a goal from Emily Link.

The one win was 3-0 in 2021/22 at a very muddy Stray Dog, thanks to goals from Emily Link (2) and Marta Casanovas. In the return game, Bromley won 2-0.

Last season we lost 2-0 away at Hayes Lane and 3-0 at home.

Form guide

Bromley have won every league game this season, except they’ve lost both of their games against Hammersmith. So another almost perfect season but with only one promotion spot, it means they’re now outsiders for that.

Player/s to watch

Bethany Hull is top scorer in the division with 24 goals, including one against us earlier in the season.

Admission

Admission is free but please book a ticket in advance so they know what numbers to expect (you can still walk-up and get in though).

Here’s a map showing pitch 4, where we’re playing, in relation to the rest of the site.
