The Finance Committee is pleased to be able to share the 2024/25 Financial Statements as approved by the AGM.
2024/25 was a financially strong and encouraging year for the club. We delivered a healthy operating surplus of £50k, up from £44k in 2023/24 (a 14% increase). This improvement was driven by income growing faster than costs, with income up 5% year on year compared to a 3% increase in expenditure, demonstrating good cost control alongside growing revenues.
The club returned to a net surplus of £25k, a significant turnaround from the £53k loss in the prior year, which was largely distorted by a one-off loan impairment and is not reflective of underlying performance.
Income growth was particularly strong in donations and commercial activity. Matchday donations increased by 36% to £55k, while non-matchday donations rose by 66% to £44k, highlighting continued and growing supporter generosity. Merchandise income remained very strong at £107k, reinforcing its importance as a core revenue stream.
These income streams contributed positively across the club, with surpluses generated by the men’s first and development teams (£23k), merchandise (£31k), other income including donations, memberships and grants (£41k), and youth training (£2k). Together, these surpluses helped to support other important areas of the club, including open access provision and the women’s team, after accounting for interest costs of £20k and support costs of £29k.
As a result, the club’s financial position strengthened further over the year. Net assets increased by £25k to £263k, while cash balances rose by £27k to £55k at 30 June 2025, providing a stronger platform for the sustainability of the club.
