Men’s development team take on title rivals on Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday, and with no other CCFC teams in action that day, attention turns to Hackney Marshes as our men’s development team have a massive game against title rivals The Gun.

The Tons currently sit top of the Hackney and Leyton league division 3, two points ahead of The Gun, but our opponents have a game in hand.

Neither side has played each other yet, so this game could go a long way to deciding who ends up with the title.

All Tons are very welcome to come down and give some much-appreciated support for the team as they hopefully take a big step towards the title – although taking nothing for granted.

The team has already started producing players for Geoff Ocran’s first team – the likes of Samba Badjana and Fama Sangare were mainstays last season, and this season Fionn Glancy, George Bennett and James Pavely have all got minutes for the first team.

Other names to look out for include Shan Chol, who has amassed an impressive 21 goals in just 14 appearances, and a potential cameo from player/assistant manager Tom ‘Offside’ Marsland.

Kick off is at 10:30am on Hackney Marshes – we won’t know the exact pitch until the morning of the game, so keep your eye on the club’s Twitter account for the pitch and a map.

Hackney Marshes is a public park so please be mindful of this if you do come to watch – no pyro, glass bottles, and be aware of the many other games that will be taking place.
