Old Spotted Dog: Update on Changing Rooms

The OSD Ground Trust has some really fantastic news to share with Clapton CFC members.

Last Thursday they received a call informing us that our planning application to Newham Council for the new changing rooms at the Old Spotted Dog Ground has been… APPROVED.

This is absolutely huge news and brings us a big step closer to returning football to the OSD, after a wait of almost 11 months since our first application went in.

This could not have happened without the tireless efforts of many members who helped with the planning application process. Thank you!

What happens next?

We are working with architect firm Studio Bates Rai on the planning and construction of the changing rooms.

Now planning has been granted, the architects will move on to more detailed designs and resolve all technical aspects.

We are looking to break ground in Spring 2022, with the construction estimated to take 14-16 weeks.

There is a slight hurdle to get over on costings. As you may have heard, construction materials and labour costs have gone up considerably in the last few months.

The project is not yet fully funded, so club committees have started work on further fundraising plans to get us over the line.

We’ll keep you posted with updates and obviously, we’ll need your help and support in completing the tasks.
