Match preview // Richmond & Kew vs Clapton CFC Women’s First Team // 31.08.25

Richmond & Kew vs Clapton Community FC takes place on Sunday, August 31 2025 with a 2pm kick off at Ham Playing Fields, Riverside Drive, Richmond Upon Thames, TW10 7RX

It’s the first away day of the season for the Clapton CFC Women’s First Team as we travel down to Richmond.

It’s been a decent enough start in our two home games so far with an opening day win against Herne Bay followed by a defeat but battling performance against title favourites Bromley. It’s always a close contest with Richmond & Kew so could go either way.

About the opposition

The club was formed in 1906 as St Anne’s Kew, changing its name in 1911 to Kew Association FC and then its current name in 2020. The men’s team joined the Southern Amateur League in 1925 so are celebrating their centenary. In 1996 they managed to find their own ground at Ham and they now have dozens of youth and adult teams. The women’s team was formed in 2021 and enjoyed two promotions in their first three seasons. In their first season at this level, they finished sixth, one place above CCFC.

Form guide

Richmond & Kew finished last season with the best form in the division with six wins out of the last seven games. They have only played one game so far this season – a defeat at Herne Bay but with a side weakened by holidays.
