With a week to go before the season starts, Geoff Ocran’s team are testing themselves against strong opposition from the same level as us in Enfield FC at the Old Spotted Dog Ground on Saturday (July 25).
That’s the team that Geoff used to captain, playing alongside the likes of Paul Oshin and Eliot Crosbie, rather than the fan-owned Enfield Town we’ve faced a few times before.
Those who attended last week’s friendly against New York International FC will have seen how impressive the pathway work has been so far. Now the final stretch of concrete will be laid between the clubhouse and the main stand, as well as filling in a couple of other gaps.
Work will start early on Saturday morning with the aim to have it completed well before players and spectators arrive. However, just to keep that area clear, we’ll be using the Disraeli Road gate for entry. That’s just the other end of the alleyway to the usual Upton Lane entrance.
Kick off is 3pm, entry is from 2pm and it’s pay what you want on the gate. The bar will be open from 2pm too, and the merch stall is open, but there’s no food stall. The stand and toilet block should be accessible. Bike racks at the Upton Lane gate are still available.
