Clapton CFC Women’s First Team left without the points despite a decent away performance at Dulwich Hamlet Reserves.
Dulwich started with high intensity, leaving CCFC struggling to find a foothold or exit their own half in the opening ten minutes.
The pressure told in the 11th minute when a well-placed shot from the left-hand side of the box from captain Emily Auld crept across goal and nestled into the far post.
It looked like it might be a long afternoon for the visitors. However, CCFC showed grit and played their way back into the contest.
The second half was a much more evenly contested affair, with CCFC arguably enjoying the better of the play and significant periods of possession. Dulwich did threaten on the break, rattling the crossbar from a corner.
Leigha Bradding-Butler was a thorn in the side of the Dulwich defence while Marta Boiro and Egle Trezzi also tested the keeper, but an equaliser wouldn’t come.
