Burnham Ramblers vs Clapton Community FC takes place on Saturday, March 7 2026 with a 3pm kick off at the Leslie Field Stadium, Springfield Road, Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex CM0 8TE
Saturday sees one of our longest treks of the season (made longer by rail engineering works) as we visit the seaside town of Burnham-on-Crouch.
Ten wins in a row for CCFC have been followed by two draws which has let Hutton take a three-point lead at the top of the table. With just seven games left, bouncing back to winning ways is crucial – but Burnham beat us earlier in the season and need points themselves for their play-off push.
About the opposition
Formed in 1900, Burnham Ramblers joined senior football in 1985 and moved to their present ground Leslie Field in 1987. They progressed up the leagues as high as Isthmian North for two seasons from 2013 to 2015. They have been in this division since 2018, finishing 13th, 6th, 7th, 22nd and 11th. Their most famous legend is Gordon Brasted who moved to Arsenal – however, our own James Briggs is among their former players too.
Previous meetings
Earlier in the season, Burnham beat us 3-2 at the Old Spotted Dog Ground despite goals from James Briggs and Fred Taylor.
Two season ago, we drew the home game 2-2 through very late goals from James Goldring and Taylan Gul, a bizarre free-kick after the keeper picked up his own goal-kick. We later secured a crucial 2-1 away win, through goals from Julian Austin and a late winner from Goldring.
Form guide
Ramblers are in ninth place, eight points off the play-offs, so a decent end to the season could see them sneak in. They’ve drawn three in a row so they will need to turn those into wins soon.
Player/s to watch
We’ve faced (and conceded goals against) experienced strikers Stuart Zanone and Asa Cansdale several times before, for the likes of Cannons Wood, Dunmow Town, Hoddesdon Town and Hutton.
Admission
Burnham Ramblers’ admission prices are £6, with £4 concessions and U16s free.No dogs allowed.
A polite request from Burnham who have asked fans not to put stickers on their ground – you will be creating work for volunteers spending their time peeling them off.
Directions
Public transport is probably not a serious option from East London for this one, as you need to catch two different replacement bus services due to engineering works.
There is free parking at the ground and nearby.
