Match preview // Enfield Borough vs Clapton CFC Men’s First Team // 04.02.26

Enfield Borough vs Clapton Community FC takes place on Wednesday, February 4 2026 with a 7.45pm kick off at Maurice Rebak Stadium, Summers Lane, North Finchley, N12 0PD

Clapton CFC Men’s First Team have another challenging midweek away day as they look to extend their recent good form. The team have notched up three wins in the last 11 days, with three clean sheets too.

Manager Geoff Ocran identified Enfield Borough as the type of young, energetic, ball-playing side who typically cause us problems, despite their lowly league position.

This game has been rearranged from September when it was postponed due to the shocking death of Billy Vigar at the venue a few days earlier. The wall around the pitch has since been replaced as was seen at our visit here on Sunday.

About the opposition

Enfield Borough formed in 2016 playing at Step 7. They won promotion at the first attempt and have been at this level since. Their best performance in the FA Vase was reaching the second round with three wins. The Panthers – one of the three in the pyramid with Enfield in their name – groundshare with Wingate & Finchley but hope to return to the borough in the near future. The club has a post-16 academy in partnership with Capital City College and a big youth programme.

Previous meetings

Earlier in the season we met in the FA Vase, in a game switched to the Old Spotted Dog Ground due to the unavailability of the Maurice Rebak Stadium. Goals from Andre Odeku 2, Nathan Cook and Jeff Twumasi sealed a 4-1 victory.

In 2023/24 we won at home 3-1 thanks to goals from Noah AdejokunFred Taylor and Taylan Gul. The away game finished 2-2 thanks to that man Gul again and Joel Akuwudike. We also played a pre-season friendly away in September 2020 and lost 6-0.

Form guide

It’s been a tough season for Enfield Borough, with them bottom of the table. However, they have at least 5 and as many as 11 games in hand over the other teams in the division, so they are well placed for mid-table safety.

Player/s to watch

Young striker Alejandro Cardenas is top scorer with 6 goals having graduated from Capital City College.

Admission

We’ve not had the admission information yet, but for a previous game their prices were listed as £7, with concessions £5 and U12s £1.

The stadium has a good bar and a food kiosk but again, we’ve not had confirmation whether they will be open.

We will update if and when we get the match information.
