The Women/NB Reserves Team begin the new campaign with a home game against East Finchley at Hackney Marshes on Sunday (September 7) at 2pm.
After being promoted as champions in their first season, the team will play in the Greater London Women’s Football League Division One North, which is just two divisions below the First Team.
The manager is once again Amii Griffith with Johanna Kuosa as assistant. Elizabeth Atoyebi has been voted captain for a second season, and will be joined by vice captains Trenna Sharpe and Lisa Henderson.
Having scored more than 100 goals last season, and with the supporters group the Clapton Fflaps backing them, it’s always an exciting watch.
Home games will usually be at Hackney Marshes at 10.30am again this season (apart from the opener with the later kick off mentioned above). Fixture list so far is here.
Sadly just before the season kicks off, two teams have withdrawn, Islington Borough Reserves and Regent’s Park, making for an eight-team division.
Of the eight teams, five were in the division before: United Dragons, who finished third last season; Enfield Town Development, who were fourth; East London, who were fifth; Hackney Reserves, who were sixth; and East Finchley, who were eighth.
There are two newcomers in the division alongside CCFC – London Galaxy, who finished runners-up behind us, and Camden & Islington United who drop down after relegation.
