In late May, the call for pre-orders for Clapton CFC’s limited edition trans solidarity goalkeeper shirt attracted huge interest.
As we reported on 6 June, 653 shirts in the colours of the trans flag of light blue, pink and white were purchased.
These have now arrived from Rage Sport in Italy and the Merch Committee has packed and posted them all.
CCFC promised that all profits would go to the Trans Legal Clinic, who are fighting the recent transphobic ruling by the Supreme Court and the subsequent FA decision to separate trans women footballers from their team-mates.
We are delighted to confirm that the club has now donated £7,944.34.
This is how this amount was calculated:
Shirts sold (653 x £30) | £19,590.00 |
PayPal fees | -£1,159.75 |
Production costs | -£10,011.50 |
Shipping costs | -£426.90 |
Currency transfer fees | -£47.51 |
Profits to donate | £7,944.34 |
The Merch Committee has packed and posted all orders, apart from those where buyers selected ‘pick up from a game’. If that’s you, come to the merch stall at any home game, starting with Dunstable Town on Saturday.
We did order 35 or so extra shirts in case of lost packages, wrong sizes etc. We need to make sure everyone has received theirs before any extras can go on sale so they are not available yet. Keep an eye on our members newsletter. Profits from those shirts will also be donated.
