Dulwich Hamlet Reserves vs Clapton Community FC takes place on Sunday, May 25 2025 with a 2pm kick off at Gallagher Stadium, James Whatman Way, Maidstone, Kent, ME14 1LQ
The 2024/25 season ends on Sunday with a shot at silverware for the Clapton CFC Women’s First Team.
Alice Sharpe’s side are in the London & South East Regional Women’s Football League Trophy final down at Maidstone United’s Gallagher Stadium. This will be the team’s fourth cup final and we’ve won one and lost two so far.
However, our opponents Dulwich will start as hot favourites. They’re unbeaten in 2025 with six wins and four draws. They also finished in fourth place in the table, three above us. CCFC meanwhile may well be rusty, having played just one game in the last six weeks, but ended the season in decent form too.
A couple of important points:
- You need to buy a ticket in advance online
- If the scores are level after 90 minutes there will extra time, then if level again, a penalty shoot-out.
About the competition
The London & South East Regional Women’s Football League Trophy is one of two league cups we play in – the other being the LSERWFL Cup.
Clapton CFC reached the final by beating Soccer Elite Football Academy, Hackney and Ashford United, all at home. Dulwich meanwhile beat Bognor Regis Town, Bexhill United and Newhaven at home, and Ashmount Leigh away.
This will be the CCFC’s second appearance in the LSEWRFL final. In 2023, we lost 5-3 after extra time against Ashford United at the same ground, Maidstone United’s Gallagher Stadium.
About the opposition
The South London women’s football club AFC Phoenix formed in 2010 and its first and reserves teams quickly rose up the divisions. In 2018 they merged to become Dulwich Hamlet, with its first team in the fifth tier and the reserves in the seventh tier. Both teams have had a further promotion since, the first team moving up to the fourth tier in 2023/4, while the reserves were elevated to the sixth tier in 2020/21.
Form guide
Dulwich’s ten-game unbeaten run includes an impressive win away at Leatherhead last weekend and a draw away at Bromley the week before.
CCFC ended the season in decent form ourselves, only losing to the top three of Brentford, Bromley and Leatherhead in the last ten games.
Previous meetings
This will be the tenth meeting between the two teams, and Dulwich have the upper hand at four wins to our two, with three draws. In our meetings in the league earlier in the season, we lost 2-1 away and drew 0-0 at home.
Players to watch
The team’s top scorer Ana De Pellegrin, who scored twice last week, has also played 28 games for the first team. Speedy winger Natalia Davila, who played four games for us last season, joinied Dulwich this season. She is second top scorer and netted both goals in our away defeat earlier this season.
