Clapton CFC will play St Margaretsbury at home in this season’s Women’s FA Cup first qualifying round on Sunday, September 10.
The Bury play in the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Women’s Football League, one level below us, after winning promotion last season. As such it’s their first ever foray into the cup.
The winners of that game will receive £1,800 in prize money and will go on to play Wodson Park away in Ware in the second qualifying round on Sunday, October 1.
The first two draws were made today with 208 clubs in total entering at this stage.
Last season we received a bye through the first few rounds as a reward for the history-making run to the third round the year before.
This time around we begin at the first stage, although that’s sometimes better as you receive no prize money for going through via a bye.
