Clapton CFC player Jordan Odofin joins Love Island

Clapton CFC men’s first team defender Jordan Odofin has joined the current series of ITV’s Love Island as a ‘bombshell’ new contestant.

Jordan, 28, works as an HR advisor by day, but also stars for our non-league football club, which plays in the eleventh tier Middlesex County Football League Premier Division.

The 6 ft 5 inch centre-back has made 45 appearances for us so far but only three this season after sustaining a serious shoulder injury in September.

He has previously played for the likes of Cambridge City, Barton Rovers, Dunstable Town and Ware and a spell in Sweden with Österlen FF.

Jordan has travelled to South Africa for filming with the blessing of player-manager Geoff Ocran, who said: “We knew he was applying but had no clue he was successful.”

For those who haven’t seen him play, Geoff describes him in glowing terms: “He brings that Virgil Van Dijk composure and influence to our back four with his experience and leadership skills. Great aerial in threat on both boxes.”

He’s the eleventh footballer to feature on the show, following on from Tom Clare, Dennon Lewis, Aaron Simpson, Finn Tapp, Mike Thalassitis, Luke Trotman, Mike Boateng, Toby Aromolaran, Luis Morrison-Derbyshire and Adam Jukes.

You can follow Jordan on Instagram at @snapsofjords and on Twitter at @jordanodofin.

Jordan can be seen on Love Island from tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
