Match report // Clapton CFC Men’s First Team 3 NW London 2 // 20.12.25

Three goals in nine minutes sealed a second half comeback for Clapton CFC in a thrilling final home game of 2025.

NW London will feel unfortunate to have come away with nothing having been on top for the first hour. They struck first on 34 minutes when Hussein Farhat’s shot took a deflection and wrong-footed Jack Francis.

A flat first half performance from Clapton soon livened up when Fred Taylor poached an equaliser on 68 minutes, squeezing in from a tight angle after James Briggs’s free kick was not cleared properly.

Momentum really swung Clapton’s way six minutes later when Adam Sidky rose highest to power a towering header into the net from a Briggsy corner.

The OSD was then treated to a moment of brilliance as David Makisi made it 3–1, embarking on a winding run past multiple defenders, exchanging passes with Taylor, and calmly slotting the ball into the corner despite the attentions of two NWL defenders.

NW London pulled one back with three minutes to go from Yotam Tesfameskel to set up a tense finish, and Clapton were reduced to ten men when Bailey Pryce was sent to the sin bin.

But Clapton saw out the game to stay in third place in the Eastern Counties League table at Christmas time.

In our tenth competitive meeting with old rivals NW London, it means we now have five wins and two draws.
