Clapton CFC produced a dramatic comeback to claim all three points at Coggeshall Town after trailing 1-0 with only 30 minutes to go.
The hosts had yet to be defeated on their home turf at West Street this season, but CCFC snatched the points in front of the Seed Growers’ biggest crowd of the season.
Coggeshall went ahead after just seven minutes, when Alex Banyard was afforded too much space in the box and calmly picked his spot past Jack Francis.
Clapton settled into possession but struggled to create clear chances, while Coggeshall remained dangerous on the counter. Injuries disrupted CCFC’s rhythm, with Joel Akuwudike forced off before the half-hour mark and Adam Sidky withdrawn early in the second half.
However, the subs including debutant David Makisi and Cameron Gordon helped shift momentum, and just after the hour mark Clapton were handed a lifeline. Fred Taylor was tripped in the box and James Briggs converted confidently from the penalty spot.

From there, the visitors pressed for a winner, and it came on 84 minutes when Fred Taylor threaded through for Gordon to calmly slot into the corner.

Coggeshall’s frustrations at going behind boiled over soon after when Benjamin Towler was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Jeff Twumasi.
In a frantic finale, the home goalkeeper joined the attack for a corner deep into stoppage time, and on a breakaway, Francis and Sam Cook combined heroically to preserve the lead.
After more than eleven minutes of added time, the final whistle confirmed an impressive away win for Clapton, who showed grit, adaptability, and late quality to turn the game around.
