June 2026 Year End Finance Report

The Club has published its finance report for the year ended 30 June 2026.

The report is being shared as part of our commitment to financial transparency and is intended to be useful for members, committees and GOC. It includes a summary commentary, profit and loss, contribution by core activity, income and expenditure detail, balance sheet information, and a reserves update.

Overall, the Club ended 2025/26 in a strong financial position. The underlying surplus after tax was £35.6k before capital contribution, compared with a budgeted surplus of £8.0k.

The report also includes a one-off, non-cash £86.1k capital contribution from the Old Spotted Dog Ground Trust relating to the new toilet block at the Old Spotted Dog Ground, bringing the reported net surplus to £121.7k. The capital contribution is shown separately from the Club’s underlying operating performance, as it reflects the value of the new facility rather than cash received by the Club.

The underlying result has strengthened the Club’s financial resilience. Cash available after ring-fenced funds was £44.6k at year end, compared with a minimum reserves benchmark of £37.5k. This is a positive position and gives the Club more capacity to think carefully about future investment, particularly where additional spend could support sustainability, participation, access, operations or volunteer capacity. However, it should not be read as a fixed amount available to spend immediately, as cash changes during the year and the Club still needs to manage loan repayments, stock, working capital and future commitments carefully.

Going forward, Finance will use this format as the basis for regular transparency reporting to members and committees. As this is the year-end report, it is fuller than future monthly reports are likely to be. Monthly reports will be more concise and focused on the specific month, key movements, reserves position, and any issues or risks to flag.
