We are devastated to announced that the Women’s First Team league game vs Soccer Elite Football Academy on Sunday, March 1 is now cancelled.

Our opponents informed us tonight that they are unable to field a side and therefore are forfeiting the game. CCFC will probably be awarded the three points but take a big financial hit from loss of income and costs incurred.

More importantly we are sorry for those planning to travel to the Old Spotted Dog Ground (many from long distances away) for what would have been our first ever Dogs Day.

A forfeit like this has never happened before with either our Women’s or Men’s First Teams since we formed in 2018 so it is hugely rare though obviously out of our control.

We have spent Saturday night trying to find last-minute friendly opponents or move the Reserves Team game to the OSD but in the end it’s been too late notice to arrange.

Of course that means that sadly our Dogs Day is also cancelled. We will look into whether to reschedule this for another game.
