Debut Clapton CFC Men’s Over 35s season nearly here

Clapton CFC Men’s Over 35s have been placed in Division Three (West) of the Essex Veterans League, where they will face a broad mix of clubs from across East London and Essex.

The team’s home ground will be ‘The Lost Dog’, the third grass pitch at Wadham Lodge in Walthamstow (Kitchener Road, E17 4LL). A few CCFC games have taken place there before, although not as many as the neighbouring Wadham Lodge Stadium, Stray Dog and 3G pitches.

Most teams in the division are East London based, but there will be away trips into far ends of Essex too, including a visit to Newport Vets near Saffron Walden.

The Over 35s will face Hale End Athletic Reserves in the first game of the season on Saturday, September 20. The following week is a Walthamstow derby at Douglas Eyre Centre away against the historic Old Parmiterians in the Essex FA Veterans Cup first round.

That’s one of three cup competitions they’re competing in this season. In the FA London Veterans Cup, they will test themselves against clubs from across the capital, while the Essex Veterans League Division Three Cup features teams across the three Division Three divisions.
