Thanks for all your orders for Clapton CFC’s limited edition trans solidarity goalkeeper shirt.
In total, 653 shirts in the colours of the trans flag of light blue, link and white were purchased in the space of just 11 days. All those shirts have now been manufactured by Rage Sport in Italy and have arrived safely at the Old Spotted Dog Ground.
If you ordered a shirt and opted for postal delivery… volunteers will be packing yours this week. So they should be arriving through your letterbox soon, perhaps next week. Please be patient.
If you opted to collect in person… you will be able to pick yours up at the Old Spotted Dog Ground merch stall at any home game, starting with the Brian Lomax Cup on July 19.
If you didn’t order.. we may have a few extras available in the next few weeks. We ordered an extra 34 shirts to account for any size swaps, missing packages etc. Any of those not required for such purposes will go on sale. Keep an eye out in our members’ newsletter and on socials.
The shirt is half-sleeved and its design is based on Clapton CFC’s home red/ black/white blocked shirt, in the same pattern as the big flag seen at games. The sleeve features the Progress Pride flag and the slogan ‘Football has no gender’ is on the back.
All profits are going to the Trans Legal Clinic, who are fighting the recent transphobic ruling by the Supreme Court and the subsequent FA decision to separate trans women footballers from their team-mates.
Thanks to the Clapton CFC merch committee for donating their time and efforts to make this happen. And thanks to Nick Davidson for the design.
Rage Sport are an ethical company who make all their kits in Italy using responsibly sourced material and make sure all workers in the supply chain are paid fairly.
