Thanks for all your pre-orders for Clapton CFC’s limited edition trans solidarity goalkeeper shirt.
In total, 653 shirts in the colours of the trans flag of light blue, link and white have been purchased in our 11-day pre-order window. All those shirts are currently being manufactured by Rage Sport in Italy before they close for summer holidays.
We have ordered a further 34 shirts in a range of sizes to account for any size swaps, missing packages etc. Any of those not required for such purposes will go on sale, so if you missed out keep an eye out.
The shirt is half-sleeved and its design is based on Clapton CFC’s home red/ black/white blocked shirt, in the same pattern as the big flag seen at games. The sleeve features the Progress Pride flag and the slogan ‘Football has no gender’ is on the back.
All profits will go to the Trans Legal Clinic, who are fighting the recent transphobic ruling by the Supreme Court and the subsequent FA decision to separate trans women footballers from their team-mates.
Thanks to the Clapton CFC merch committee for donating their time and efforts to make this happen. And thanks to Nick Davidson for the design.
Please be patient in waiting for your shirt to arrive – remember that they do not exist yet. Expect to receive yours in July, just before the start of the new season.
