Clapton CFC’s Women’s Reserves Team appoint Head Coach ahead of first Sunday season

The new(ish) Clapton CFC’s Women’s Reserves Team have appointed Amii Griffith as their Head Coach.

Amii is a UEFA C licensed football coach with lots of experience of coaching with our friends at Goal Diggers FC and Stonewall FC, as well as schools and youth football. The players’ feedback from a trial coaching session was excellent and they’re all buzzing to work with her as they make a step up into the FA football pyramid.

Amii said: “It’s great to be part of a club with such a rich history and I’m looking forward to starting my role with Clapton CFC Reserves.”

You may have seen the news last week that we now have a Women’s Reserves Team, which is a successor to the Development Team. The team are planning to move from the more informal Saturday football league on Hackney Marshes on to Sundays and the Greater London Women’s Football League, only a few divisions below the Women’s First Team’s level. More on that to follow.

There are still two open trial dates for the Women’s First Team and Reserve Team on Thursdays June 13 and 20. We welcome players of varying abilities and experience to trial with us. If you are interested, please email womensteams@claptoncfc.co.uk and include your preferred position(s) and experience.

If you are interested in more casual football, Open Access is held every Saturday morning for women and non-binary people starting or returning to football.
