Richmond Park vs Clapton CFC preview: Unusual double header for women’s first team

The Clapton CFC women’s first team have TWO games in one day this Sunday with six points up for grabs.

We’ll play two 60-minute games back to back away against Richmond Park FC, at 2pm then at 3.30pm.

Both games will be at their Beveree Stadium home, where the men’s team Hampton & Richmond Borough play.

Two Richmond Park players to look out for are former Clapton CFC defensive rock Phoebe Parthews and striker Lauren Hawkley, who is the second top scorer in the division with 22.

While only in midtable, they have loads of games in hand and home form is one of the best in the division, with just one defeat all season.

About the opponents

Richmond Park FC is a community football club providing opportunities for girls and women local to Kingston, Ham and Richmond.

The club only formed in 2014, but currently they have 250 players playing across 14 teams, with a player pathway from age five through to adult football.

The women’s first team only formed for the 21/22 season and went on to win the new Surrey FA Women’s League with a 100% record.

Admission to spectators is free. The bar is not due to open to a shortage of staff.

The nearest station is Hampton (London) on the London Waterloo to Shepperton line. It’s then about 8 minutes’ walk to the stadium.

There is some parking at the stadium and on surrounding roads.
