Clapton CFC handed tough Essex Premier Cup task

Clapton CFC are to play newly-promoted Hutton FC at home in the first round of the BBC Essex Premier Cup.

Hutton, based in Brentwood, will play in the Essex Olympian Premier Division, one step above CCFC, this season after finishing runners-up last season.

Last season in the Essex Premier Cup, Hutton reached the fourth round, losing to Kelvedon Hatch having beaten Benfleet and Halstead Reserves along the way.

There’s a familiar name in the Hutton squad – classy midfielder Danny Aggio who played for Clapton for many years.

The game will take place on Saturday, September 22nd at our temporary home at Wadham Lodge, Walthamstow (which will soon have a catchier name).

The Essex Premier Cup is one of three cup competitions that Clapton will play in as well as league games in the Middlesex County Football League Division 1.

The others are the Anagram Records Trophy – where we will play Epping Town at home – and the MCFL League Cup, which hasn’t been drawn yet.
