Clapton CFC will play Chelmsford City away in the Second Qualifying Round of the Women’s FA Cup.

The battle of CCFC vs CCFC is scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 20 at 2pm at their Melbourne Stadium home.

The two teams met in an early pre-season friendly there, with the home side winning 4-0.

Clapton CFC reached this round with a bye in the Preliminary Round and then won 6-3 at AFC Welwyn in the First Qualifying Round.

Welwyn are in the same division as Chelmsford – the Eastern Region Women’s Football League Division One South – which is the same level as Clapton.

Chelmsford have won both their league games this season as well two wins in the FA Cup against teams from their division in Wormley Rovers and Hertford Town.

This will our seventh away game in a row in this tournament and overall it’s the 14th away tie out of the 18 in our history.
