Lymore Gardens vs Clapton Community FC takes place on Friday, March 20 2026 with a 7.45pm kick off at Oakside Stadium, Barkingside, Station Road, Ilford, IG6 1NB

Just five games to go now for the Clapton CFC Men’s First Team in the battle for promotion from the Eastern Counties League Division One South. Clapton are unbeaten in 14 games but need wins to firstly seal a play-off spot and also push leaders Hutton for the automatic place.

The next two away games sees CCFC visit play-off contenders, firstly Lymore Gardens who were very impressive in their visit to the Old Spotted Dog Ground earlier this season. It’s an easy away trip so join us for some Friday night football and cheer on our injury-hit CCFC team.

About the opposition

Lymore Gardens FC was formed in 2016 by Lee Benjamin, who is chairman and manager. Since then they’ve had three promotions starting from Division 2 of the Essex Alliance League while being known for risk-taking, attacking football. Their ultimate aim is to reach Step 3 and build their own stadium in the Leytonstone area. It is a Community Interest Company also doing anti-racism work in schools and the wider community. They have 350 players across their 8 teams.

Previous meetings

In September, we inflicted Lymore’s first defeat of the season with a 3-0 win at the Old Spotted Dog Ground. Fred Taylor (2) and James Briggs scored. The teams also met in a friendly in July at Redbridge FC. Two goals from Nico Bunduku and one from Adam Sidky helped us to a 3-1 win.

Form guide

After being promoted last summer to Step 6 for the first time, they reached the last 16 in their first FA Vase campaign. With 3 wins in their last 5 games, they’re currently in sixth but with games in hand over most other teams so are well placed to reach the play-offs.

Player/s to watch

Three Lymore players have hit double figures this season – Malik Donaldson, formerly of Barkingside and Brimsdown, ex-Frenford striker Wisley Baltazar plus Dylan Roberts, who was the top scorer in the Essex Alliance League for the last two seasons.
