FC Baresi vs Clapton Community FC takes place on Saturday, February 7 2026 with a 3pm kick off at Wodson Park, Wadesmill Rd, Ware SG12 0UQ

Where are we going on Saturday? Ware of course, where FC Baresi groundshare.

After a four wins in a row moving us up to second in the table, Clapton CFC Men’s First Team should be full of confidence.

However, no one will be underestimating FC Baresi, who drew 2-2 at the Old Spotted Dog Ground a few months ago, having gone 2-0 ahead.

About the opposition

FC Baresi was formed in 1993 as Santos FC by Amjad Mahmood, who is still the chairman, and in 1997 adopted their current name. After winning the Asian Football League title three times, Baresi folded in 2010. However, they reformed in 2017 and joined the Essex Alliance League, winning back to back promotions. They moved home ground from Walthamstow (George White Ground and Britannia Playing Fields) to groundshare at Ware in order to be eligible for promotion to the Eastern Counties League, which they duly achieved in 2023-24.

Previous meetings

At home in November, Clapton CFC fought back from two goals down at half-time to earn a 2-2 draw thanks to goals from Fred Taylor and Lewis Owiredu.
