AS London vs Clapton Community FC takes place on Wednesday, January 28 2026 with a 7.45pm kick off at New River Stadium, White Hart Lane, Wood Green, Haringey, N22 5QW
We’re back in midweek action for the next two Wednesdays – starting with a trip to Wood Green and AS London this week.
Saturday’s win at Southend Manor moved Clapton CFC up one place to sixth, but just a point behind third in a very congested league table.
Having lost to AS London twice this season at home, CCFC will also be looking to revenge in the away visit.
About the opposition
AS London formed in 1991 as Park View and originally drew players from London’s Ghanaian community. They joined the Middlesex County Football League Division One Central & East and won it in the first season – exactly like we did a decade later. Since then they’ve progressed through the levels and narrowly missed out on promotion again last season, losing in the play-offs. Last season was their first under their new name, which stands for All Stars London.
Previous meetings
Earlier this season AS London beat us 2-1 in the league, despite a Cameron Gordon goal. They also beat us on penalties in the League Cup after a 0-0 draw in 90 minutes.
We did the double over Park View two seasons ago, winning 4-0 at home then 5-2 away at New River Stadium.
Form guide
AS London have changed management twice since they beat us, with Frankie Sinclair replaced by Joe Olabanji and more recently Mustafa Bashkal. In his two home games in charge, they’ve drawn to runaway league leaders Hutton and beaten play-off chasing Burnham Ramblers.
Player/s to watch
Top scorer Naim Mejdoubi is on 7, including a goal scored against us earlier in the season.
Admission
We don’t think there will be a bar or food, but perhaps teas and coffees.
