A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all. There’s some great news to end the year as the Old Spotted Dog Ground Trust accessibility fundraiser has hit its target of £10,000.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone who donated, shared the appeal, or gave up their cup deposit on match days. Your support has made a real difference and shows the strength of our community.
Among the 136 donations, eight CCFC members sonated the £2,700 they earned working for the Workers Beer Company at Glastonbury Festival back in June. Meanwhile the charity Fairy Water Trust donated £2,500.
The £10,000 total raised will be used to make two improvements to the OSD. Firstly to make our ground accessible for those with wheelchairs and mobility issues by levelling the path towards the seated stand and in front of the clubhouse. Secondly by putting in a new perimeter fence around the pitch made from old scaffold poles.
The OSDGT are now moving ahead with purchasing the scaffold poles. As we enter the build phase, volunteers will be needed to help with installation and to help manage the project. Don’t worry about skills and expertise, there will be plenty of experience on hand. Email trust@oldspotteddog.org if you can help.
