Coggeshall Town vs Clapton Community FC is on Saturday, October 4 2025 at 3pm at West Street, 127 West Street, Coggeshall, Colchester, CO6 1NT
After a packed schedule in the opening few weeks of the season, the CCFC Men’s First Team have been out of action for the last couple of weeks. We can’t afford any rustiness, however, as we visit fellow play-off contenders.
This will be our first meeting with Coggeshall, and it’s one of our furthest trips of the season.
About the opposition
Founded in 1878, The Seedgrowers are the joint oldest club in Essex. Their high point came relatively recently, winning back to back promotions from 2015 to 2018 to reach the Isthmian League Division One North. At the time they were partly owned by former player, pop star Olly Murs. Two successive relegations brought them to the Eastern Counties League Division One South last season, where they just missed out on the play-offs by one point and place.
Form guide
Having finished last season in fine form winning 12 of the last 18 games, they’ve kept most of the squad together this season and continued in a similar vein. They sit three points below us with a game in hand having only lost one game, away against second-placed Hutton.
Previous meetings
None.
Player/s to watch
Last season, top scorers Abiola Makanjuola and Todd Hollocks bagged 29 between them. They’re both still with the club on 2 and 5 respectively already this season.
Admission
£8, with over 65s £5 and under 16s £2.
Directions
The nearest station is Kelvedon, with direct trains from Liverpool Street and Stratford. That’s over 3 miles from the ground, however, so you will need a bus or taxi.
You can also travel to Marks Tey or Braintree by rail and then get a direct bus.
