Clapton CFC at summer community events

Over the last month, Clapton CFC Community Outreach volunteers ran stalls at Forest Gate Pride, Forest Gate Festival, Unions East Festival and Games Transformed. We also provided a goalkeeper for the Woodgrange School’s annual fete.

Across the events, we handed out hundreds of leaflets, talked to hundreds of attendees about the club and got some henna tattoos (see above).

From a merch standpoint, we sold over £1000 of goods in total too. It was striking to hear how many people already owned a shirt. However, the winter scarves and beanie hats did not sell well in 30°C heat, for some reason.

A big thank you to everyone who worked on the preparation and delivery of these events. We were invited to other community events which we wanted to attend but lacked enough volunteers to cover them – please do email community@claptoncfc.co.uk if you can help in future.
