Clapton CFC Men’s Over 35s make their Old Spotted Dog Ground debut

Our Men’s Over 35s are getting ready for their first game ever at the Old Spotted Dog when they will be hosting Coppermill Swifts. The game promises to be an exciting East London derby of two like minded, volunteer led community football clubs.

Coppermill Swifts are our good friends and our youth teams play each other regularly in leagues and tournaments in East London. They also helped the club a lot when we were setting up our Men’s Over 35s team.  The game will be played on Wednesday, May 14 at 7:30pm. Entry is free, but donations are always appreciated to support the club.

Our previous encounter with Coppermill Swifts early in the season was a real thriller: two early goals from Matt gave us a 2–0 lead, but we couldn’t hold on, eventually falling to a 5–3 defeat. Much has changed since then, and we’re ready to show how far we have come.

Even bigger news: we have submitted the paperwork to join the Essex Veterans League from next season. There’s a lot of work ahead of us and a lot to look forward to – and this is just the beginning of our journey! Forza Clapton!
