Who CCFC women’s first team face in London & South East Regional Women’s League Division One North

Clapton CFC women’s first team have been promoted into the sixth tier of women’s football with the full 12-team division now announced.

The London & South East Regional Women’s League Division One North will feature four teams that we’re meeting again, and seven new opponents.

We renew rivalries with Brentford and Dulwich Hamlet Reserves, who were promoted from the Greater London Women’s Football League the season before we were.

Dorking Wanderers also lie in wait, having beaten us 1-0 in the Capital Women’s Cup final, while we have an East London derby with Hackney, who we’ve faced in friendlies.

Walton & Hersham are a new name, but were previous known as Walton Casuals, and will no doubt feature many of the same players.

Leatherhead, Richmond Park, Sport London E Benfica and Watford Development all remain in the division from last season.

Denham United and Whyteleafe join the division having both been relegated by just one point in a very tight fifth tier division.

The league season begins with two away trips, firstly to Brentford at Bedfont Sports FC on Sunday, August 21, then Denham United up in Uxbridge on August 28.

The first home game will be against Watford Development on September 11 although the venue is still to be confirmed due to ongoing issues with the dressing rooms at the Old Spotted Dog Ground.
