Clapton CFC men’s development team clinch back to back promotions

Congratulations to the Clapton CFC men’s development team who clinched promotion with a win in their final game of the season on Sunday.

They beat Sunday FC 3-0 to finish second in the Hackney & Leyton Football League Division Two and gain a second successive promotion.

The team were formed three seasons ago on the famous Hackney Marshes pitches as a launchpad for young talent to make the men’s first team.

That’s proved to be the case with the likes of Bailey Pryce, Carl Paul, James Pavely, Fionn Glancy, Suleyman Zahmoul playing key roles in the men’s first team promotion.

This season Jon Akaly took over from Justin Cummins as manager, alongside assistant Tom Marsland.
