March 2021 income and expenditure

As we reach the first anniversary of lockdown measures that continue to severely interrupt the club’s core activities, our spending has dropped to around 20% of what we had spent this time last year.

The club’s committees spent only £1,183.43 and more than half of this was by the Communications Committee on merchandise sales, including postage (£426.66) and PayPal fees (£159.33). The Membership Committee also spent £350 on postage for sending out cards and badges to our members.

Our income in March was up slightly from February to £5,344.99. This includes merchandise sales of £3,409.23 (before the deduction of PayPal fees of £159.33), Young Tons session donations from December 2020 (£187.90), monthly direct debit donations (£65.12)and other individual donations totalling £268.

In March, we also received membership fees totalling £1,414.74 (£1490 less PayPal fees of £75.26).This was £500 more than the previous month and we had had 109 people either renewing or joining CCFC for the first time. This a surge in numbers was due to an email from our Merch committee, reaching out to thousands of online customers asking if they wanted to receive regular updates from the club. As of March 31st, CCFC’s active membership stands at 1623.

In reporting the club’s expenditure, VAT is listed separately, In March, we collected £249.82 from the sales of our merchandise and can claim back £48.92 from VAT added to purchases made by the club and by the Old Spotted Dog Ground Trust. This means that we owe £200.90 for the month to HM Revenue & Customs.

CLAPTON AGAINST CORONA HARDSHIP FUND

We have recorded Hardship Fund income and spending separately since this initiative was set up 12 months ago and in March 2021, the income and spending for the Hardship Fund was:
