Clapton CFC nominated for FSA Lockdown Heroes award

We’ve been nominated for the Football Supporters’ Association Lockdown Heroes award!

The nomination is for the Clapton vs Corona Hardship Fund, where members who can afford to can put in, and members who need cash can take out.

Between March 2020 and the end of January 2021, the fund received £12,250.40 in donations and paid out £11,740 to club members in dire financial straits.

The fund is still doing good work and still open! You can donate here https://www.claptoncfc.co.uk/clapton-against-corona…/

The club has also given away hundreds of free face masks to local schoolteachers and charities.

Our fellow nominees are FC United of Manchester for their Food Hub and Gosport Borough for their ‘Feed a Family in Need’ initiative.

We’re up against two amazing projects from F.C United of Manchester and Gosport Borough Football Club.

The award will be judged by the FSA jury, result in a few weeks.
