Clapton CFC Women/NB Development Team take on Stonewall FC at London Marathon Stadium

On Saturday, the Clapton CFC Women/NB Development Team took on their Stonewall counterparts in what was both teams’ debut appearance at the London Marathon Stadium, next to West Ham’s ground.

With the sun out and a great pitch to play on, Clapton made sure to stay engaged, intense 💥 , and kept a high line to keep pressure on and driving when they saw space.

The passing and crossing of the ball in the game was magic ✨ as it helped keep the ball primarily in the opposing teams half.

Clapton worked as one unit to move the ball from one side to the other, pushing together showing support and space to drive towards the goal resulting in a 4-1 win over Stonewall.

It was a great to see so many faces in the stands showing love and support for the game and our players. Thank you to everyone who came and to our hosts! 💖

Goals come from consistent goal machine Yudit (2) who had support from Gigi’s determination and deep throw-ins from Zonnie. Tahiyah Rahman aka “T” drove forward and also slotted home two goals.

T joined CCFC this season. Demonstrating the community that football can create, T’s Mum used to play football with Ellie which led to T joining and becoming a brilliant addition to CCFC this season.

Next match: Saturday, March 15, versus Victoria Park Vixens. Location Victoria park
